First Annual Oktoberfest
St. B’s First Annual Oktoberfest will take place Sat October 3rd from 6-10pm to kick off the Fall Festival weekend.  Come join us for an evening of good food, music and spirit in the traditional Bavarian way!  We will have traditional Bavarian music, bratwursts, large soft pretzels, hot dogs and other refreshments.  Check out our website for this event at www.stboktoberfest.com.

Annual Parish Fall Festival
Celebrate the season!  New this year is a free outdoor concert by local favorite band, The U-Liners.  Pony rides and preschool activities including Halloween Story Time in the MSR; Irish Dance and Taekwondo performances in the MSR; as well as signature stand-by attractions including Family Bingo, Cake Walk and Bake Sale, Artisan Marketplace, a Country Store and so much more!  Festival favorites available for purchase at the Snack Shack thanks to the Silver Spring Saints Youth Football Organization. Holy Name Society Golf Outing
Come join us and bring a friend (or 3) and play 18 holes of golf.  You’ll have a good time while contributing to the on-going improvement of St. Bernadette School facilities.  Your donation includes golf with cart, range balls, continental breakfast, lunch, beverages, snacks award and door prizes.  The format will be Captain’s choice and we will reward the best team and individual performances.
Cost $100 per golfer - Consider Sponsorship – even if you cannot play!

The 5th Quarter Celebration
Saint Bernadette hosts The 5th Quarter Celebration, Saturday, November 7, 2009 immediately following the St. John's vs. Gonzaga Football Game.
Gonzaga and St. John's will compete at Montgomery Blair High School. When the game ends, the St. Bernadette CYO 5th Quarter Celebration will begin with food, drink, spirit wear, live music and lots of alumni, friends and families.
       St. Bernadette CYO, with the assistance of the Silver Spring Saints, hosts the 5th                      
       Quarter as a way to support our CYO Program maintain our athletic field, which is used   
       by Archdiocesan teams throughout the year.  Please join us on the field for a fun-filled

Christmas Marketplace
The Annual Christmas Marketplace will be held on Sunday November 23rd, 2008
from 10am-3pm in the School Hall.  Use this opportunity to shop for everyone on your Christmas list from a wide variety of local crafters and businesses.  Also, participate in the Marketplace raffle, with great products donated by each vendor. All proceeds from the event benefit St. Bernadette School.  Look for a flyer to be posted in the coming weeks, listing all of the participating vendors.  Please consider bringing a home baked item for a bake sale to make the day a little sweeter for all!  For more information about the Marketplace, or if you have a business you would like to showcase, please contact Helen Elliott at twococonuts@usa.net. 

DECEMBER

• CYO Christmas Trees – on the front lawn

During the month of December the CYO sells great quality Christmas Trees to support the efforts of the CYO Program.  Greenery available as well.  This is a long standing tradition at St. Bernadette’s and should bring back some great memories for all alumni. 

• Poinsettia Memorials & Sales

Poinsettias can be purchased and/or donated to the church in memory or honor of a loved one.  Those donated decorate the altar during Christmas.  A list of memorials is published in the Christmas Bulletin.  Orders due by Nov 6 (tentatively) and are available for pickup around Dec 4th.  Contact Therese Draddy at draddyepub@verizon.net.
